About me

Professional training

I am qualified to practice in the field of trauma therapy, family therapy and social work having received training from institutions in USA, South Africa and Sweden. My most recent training was at the Somatic Experiencing Trauma Institute (SE™) in California under the mentorship of Steven Hoskinson (Senior International Facult) and founder of OI - Organic Intelligence approach.

He was trained under and has worked with the founder of Somatic Experiencing, Dr. Peter A. Levine. I have also had the opportunity to assist Dr. Peter A. Levine in workshops and courses in Croatia and USA.

I have a further two years of complementary postgraduate studies in Systemic Family Constellation Therapy under tutelage of Tanja Meyburgh at African Constellations in South Africa, and German psychotherapists Ursula Franke, Guni Baxa, and Stephan Hausner.

I hold a university degree in Social Work from Örebro University in Sweden where I focused on social work theory, methodology, law and psychology, specifically in the area of family systems theory and Network Therapy.

Background

I was born and raised in Chile and Brazil, with a Chilean mother and a German father. I am married and I have a son and a daughter. As a grown-up I have lived in South Africa, California and I now live in Stockholm where I have my practice.

My professional career started when I worked for the Red Cross in Barcelona, Spain, with elderly and lonesome people. I later moved to Stockholm, Sweden to study Social Work at Örebro University, where I also practiced as a personal assistant for physically and mentally disadvantaged clients. As volunteer at the Stockholm Red Cross I developed projects to support political refugees with experience of torture and trauma. I also worked as part of a therapist group for a major municipality in the Stockholm region where I developed skills in family counseling and Network Therapy.

I lived for almost a decade in Cape Town where I worked as family counsellor at FAMSA Western Cape where I treated individuals, couples and families. I was also in charge with a colleague to train hundreds of health- and first responders in the basic skills to handle and meet patients and clients with trauma. In collaboration with Sonke Gender Justice Network, I facilitated FAMSA’s Fatherhood Program.

Currently I have my therapy practice in Östermalm, Stockholm. I also have ample experience to meet and treat clients online (using zoom mainly). I combine my therapy practice by acting as part-time school counsellor in a local primary and middle school.

I am an official member of several therapy and social work organisations, including ISCA (International Systemic Constellations Association), and the Somatic Experiencing Förening in Sweden.
